Toowoomba Surat Basin Enterprise

The Toowoomba Surat Basin Enterprise is a non-profit membership organisation that links business with opportunities in order to create sustainable growth and diversity for the region. With dozens of activities across any given year, TSBE has become the leading economic development organisation in the region and has facilitated the growth for the local economy and also for individual businesses through facilitation of access to new opportunities.

BBS and TSBE have a mutually beneficial partnership which allows for the exchange of ideas, business networks and also the profiling of TSBE beyond the traditional boundaries of the Toowoomba and Surat region. BBS deploys strategic media engagement to take the story of the Toowoomba and Surat region to national audiences with the purpose of promoting economic investment and engagement with local businesses.

The TSBE is well equipped to handle local publicity and engagement but requires BBS’ expertise and connections to extend their reach. Our team engages with national publications and stakeholders and allows TSBE to tell its story to an audience much broader than would be the case without our involvement.

We have also delivered crisis communication training, social media coaching and other communications-related advice to TSBE and its members

Intern at BBS

BBS operates a University Internship Program which offers placements in line with the university semesters, plus holiday period intakes, generally June/July and December/January/ February.

We accommodate trimester students and our program is open to applicants who are pursuing an internship of their own accord outside of the standard university semester calendar.

As a BBS intern you can expect to work alongside experienced professionals on real client projects, an environment which provides an accurate picture of what life as a communications consultant is like.

BBS interns are always considered first for our graduate roles and many of our former interns have gone on to senior roles within our firm.

Working in a consultancy is diverse, fast-paced. It’s often said that “you’ll learn more in your first year in consultancy than in your first 3 – 5 years in another role”.
