Cystic Fibrosis Queensland – Diamond Jubilee Donors Club

Peak not-for-profit organisation Cystic Fibrosis Queensland (CFQ) engaged BBS during 2019-2020 to provide an embedded partnerships coordinator with the goal of leading their new Diamond Jubilee Donor Club and also growing a number of existing fundraising programs.

The Diamond Jubilee Donor Club sought to commemorate 60 years of support, services and hope for people living with cystic fibrosis and aimed to identify 60 founding members to donate each $1,000. The Club would then have $60,000 to invest in perpetuity to help secure the long-term future of Cystic Fibrosis Queensland.

BBS’ team member coordinated CFQ’s delivery of the Donor Club strategy and supported execution across multiple areas including copywriting, collateral creation, target identification and engagement, media and social media campaigning.

This work expanded into support for national programs including the Christmas Appeal, 65 Roses for Cystic Fibrosis, Bounce to Breath and SOCK it 2 CF.

At the time of writing, 53 of the target 60 Donor Club members had been secured, with activity suspended due to the impact of COVID-19.

Intern at BBS

BBS operates a University Internship Program which offers placements in line with the university semesters, plus holiday period intakes, generally June/July and December/January/ February.

We accommodate trimester students and our program is open to applicants who are pursuing an internship of their own accord outside of the standard university semester calendar.

As a BBS intern you can expect to work alongside experienced professionals on real client projects, an environment which provides an accurate picture of what life as a communications consultant is like.

BBS interns are always considered first for our graduate roles and many of our former interns have gone on to senior roles within our firm.

Working in a consultancy is diverse, fast-paced. It’s often said that “you’ll learn more in your first year in consultancy than in your first 3 – 5 years in another role”.
